Sometimes, especially on the weekends I will literally get up just to do my skincare routine and put on a some foundation or something to make myself feel like I’m put together. I love it because it takes me forever and makes me feel somewhat productive even if I end up right back in my room. These days I have to appreciate the little things just to keep going.
I have a few favorites in my drawer that I use even if I’m just staying home so they’re light enough that if I did end up going right back to bed I could and I won’t feel irritated. I’ve been on the hunt for an easy makeup routine for the weekend or days that I don’t have plans so that it’s simple but makes me look like I did some kind of routine to get ready for the day. I’m so happy with how it’s going so far.

I currently do my morning skincare routine including vitamin C, and moisturizer and sunscreen. I’ll write a post soon that will go more in depth about the research that went into picking what I use for my skincare routines. With my moisturizer I typically mix it with Drunk Elephant Bronzing Drops or L’Oreal Lumi Glotion in shade 904 depending on if I know I’m going somewhere or not. They both work the exact same way, so if you want to get bronzing drops definitely go with the Lumi Glotion. I also heard the lighter shades of the Glotion could be used as a highlight.
Once I’ve got my sunscreen on, depending on the day I will put on the Watermelon Dew Drops from Glow Recipe. I was very hesitant on buying these drops because I thought the fragrance would irritate my skin. The first time I tried them I thought they might’ve done that. As time went on I kept thinking about them, and it didn’t help that they were all over my for you page and my explore page on Instagram. I found an article from Allure, a very credible site, that said these dew drops help with redness and I decided that was enough to justify buying them. I use these as a primer rather than a serum because it can work as both makeup and skincare.
After I apply the Dew Drops I apply a very light coverage foundation, sometimes I switch between the Rare Beauty Tinted Moisturizer, or L’Oreal True Match Serum. I like how light they both are on the skin and it really just depends on how I’m feeling that day.
After I apply foundation I use the e. l. f Halo Glow Liquid Filter to add some glow so I don’t have to use highlight. I normally put a light amount on the areas I want to have more of a glow. I really like the Halo Glow because it’s easy to apply and blend out. It’s such a nice foundation and could be used on it’s own I just feel it has too much glow for just relaxing at home.

Lastly, I typically add some bronzing from Pixi Beauty. I don’t add too much just enough to give me a little bronze glow especially for summer. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect makeup routine for going to the beach that I plan to share with everyone in a post of its own.
I feel like doing my skincare routine, even if I don’t get dressed wakes me up and encourages me to be productive. I spoke with my therapist and she also agreed this is a positive for me. I didn’t think skincare was important but I thought developing a small routine would be nice and then it just grew really fast. I enjoy it so much and look forward to it in the morning.
