I grew up watching Selena Gomez on Barney and then on Wizards of Waverley Place. I was here for it when she decided to separate from Disney and do her own thing. I was obsessed when she launched Rare Beauty in 2020 and all the products had accessible packaging.
Growing up, putting on makeup wasn’t really an option for me because it was hard to tell if my products were blended or I always messed up the eyeshadow. Something would always happen when I did my own makeup that would lead to me taking it all right off with a makeup wipe. Yes I know they’re bad for you now but when I first started using them I was in love.
A few weeks after Selena Gomez launched Rare Beauty I was at Sephora trying to buy as many products as my wallet could handle. It wasn’t a lot but it was enough for me to absolutely love the packaging. The tops of several of the packages were amazing for telling me which product I was touching without me having to dig through my purse, my makeup bag, or the drawer in my bathroom I keep all the products I use every day in.

Rare Beauty made it so fun and easy to wear makeup and enjoy the process a little more. Especially when she launched her tinted moisturizer. The accessible packaging is absolutely amazing. I know she got a little backlash because it was plastic but I thought it was fantastic. I have trouble squeezing things because of my disability and the packaging made it so easy that I almost squeeze out too much product sometimes.
Needless to say, anything Selena creates I will be there 100% whether it’s music, movies, tv shows, makeup, clothing, or accessories. She hasn’t let me down on any of the products I’ve bought from her. I can’t wait to see what’s next for her and Rare Beauty.
